What is counselling?
Unlike life coaching which is “what” and “how” focussed ie “what do I want” and “how will I achieve it”, counselling is more “why” focussed”.

 

The goal of counselling is to assist people by:-

  • identifying why they have developed negative beliefs or behaviours;
  • developing strategies that enable them to deal with past issues and in doing so move away from emotional distress;
  • overcoming unwanted symptoms and reestablishing a healthier emotional state.




Counselling outcomes are achieved by processing feelings and has a strong focus on your inner world.

Counselling is valuable for people experiencing anguish or emotional turmoil which they have to understand before being able to move on.

Once these issues are dealt with many people turn to the active goal oriented approach of life coaching.
